We are going to be traveling with our cat, of 10 years, I seem to be spending more time worrying about him and buying him things, almost like having a little child to worry about. Storm Chaser, the cat is getting used to the RV and he is becoming leashed trained. Well sort of, that is a whole new story.
So as we pack, and go through things, seeing old pictures, and boxing up memories, I remind myself that we are going to make new memories, and that is what I am looking forward to the most.

Heather, check in when you can. We did something similar a year ago for different (but similar) reasons. Finally wound up in an old creaky house that we're fixing up as time and money allows. It was quite a downsize...but it's paid for, so that counts for a lot. Good luck, and travel safe.
